Some Thoughts About Modeling

Setting the record straight:

Modeling has many genres such as fit, catalog, print, glamour, promo, just to name a few. When people say the word ‘model’ they’re typically thinking of superstar, 90 pound, high fashion runway models, when in fact, that’s a very small portion of the modeling industry where an even smaller percentage of models actually make any money. There’s a good reference at Modeling Mentors

About Modeling:

A few things to consider when you’re in front of the camera. Let me start by saying modeling is a lot more difficult than one would think. It’s more than standing in front of the camera looking pretty. As a matter of fact, models don’t need to be “pretty,” they need to be able to deliver a look or feeling on demand every time they’re asked to.

Your photo session and getting the results you want:

I need your help. When you arrive at  the studio for a photo shoot you should have a solid idea of the style you want to shoot in, what poses you’ll be trying and what you want the end result to look like. All of which should have been discussed during consultation. There’s no set script but beginning your session a common goal will be very beneficial.
